We work with a national and international client base. Our many years of experience means we approach each project not only as interior designers but from the client's viewpoint where we aim to maximise the client's return on investment. We take the layout of the building and ensure that we are getting the maximum commercial use of the building. We do this by ensuring we understand the stakeholders’ interests, our client's needs and matching those to the target market. Our story:
AM Design has been at the core of traditional Irish Pub design and fit-out for over two decades, providing successful designs for site developments, fit-outs and restoration projects throughout Ireland, as well as in Europe, North America and Asia. Our vision is making buildings look well and work well, developing their potential for today's use and future use. Retaining the best of our heritage is a key element and combining this with unlocking the potential in venues for hospitality, leisure & entertainment, working spaces and living spaces of excellence.
Angela Murphy Design Associates Limited, AM Design, was established in 1994 in Bray, County Wicklow. Since then, Angela and her team have been providing authentic Irish and traditional designs for publicans, hoteliers, commercial businesses and home owners in a wide variety of venues throughout Ireland and worldwide.
We deal with renovations of existing buildings, development of extensions and also new build projects. We work on pub, hotel and restaurant design and fit-out projects as well as mixed-use commercial and residential projects. We work throughout Ireland and internationally.
Many of our projects involve development of historical buildings and heritage interiors. Authentic design, details, materials, fittings and bric-a-brac constitute some of the key components of the success of our projects. We keep extensive stocks of salvaged materials, timber fittings, memorabilia and bric-a-brac. We work with a highly-skilled workforce who work with both old and new timbers and materials, to restore existing buildings and interiors, redeveloping a wide variety of building types to suit up to date requirements.
Each project is unique. We work from an initial brief with our clients through the process of building and locations survey, review of market development potential, to the design process. This is followed by implementation of design, building, renovation and fit-out, all the way through to its final completion. We’re passionate about achieving the best for each development and take great pride in seeing their success and also seeing many of our projects appear in films, books, calendars, advertising campaigns, postcards, etc.
Collaboration:
Collaborating design with key crafts people, specialist trades people and building contractors is a key element in project work. We are privileged to work with many dedicated carpenters, joiners, crafts people and construction workers to achieve the best results and we proud to work with the owners and custodians of many old, more unusual and heritage buildings.
Heritage & tourism:
The AM Design team strive to retain the best aspects of our heritage and historical buildings and features, developing these to best effect for contemporary developments, meeting current and future market demands. Angela takes a particular interest in historical and cultural developments, being focused on how this compliments the hospitality and entertainment industries. And in particular, the many benefits of how domestic and international tourism is funding projects that involve both new building developments and the restoration of older buildings and features.
